Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen Nuremberg (FAU), founded around 1742, is Bavaria's second big state university sustaining eleven faculties and 265 chairs. Of the faculties, nine come located in Erlangen and two within Nuremberg. All about 24,000 students survey at this university.
